Our Story

HerCloset started in 2016 with one simple problem. Our founder needed one bag that could do many things — go to work, carry a laptop, and still look nice for a weekend out. She could not find one, so she decided to make it. She worked with a small leather workshop in Mumbai to make the first batch of bags. Just twelve bags. They sold out fast, mostly to friends and family. That gave us the confidence to make more. Today, we still work with the same care. Every bag is checked by hand before it goes out the door.

We'd rather sell twenty bags we're proud of than two hundred we're not. Our full range is small on purpose.
Designed by women who carry too much
Every prototype is carried for a full week by someone on our team before it's approved for production.
Priced without the mall markup
We sell directly, so the price on the tag reflects the leather and the labour — not four layers of distribution.
Made to be repaired, not replaced
Loose stitching or a broken clasp gets fixed at our workshop, often for free within the first two years.
